At CAP we are continually reminded and thankful of the service members in our community offer our agency and those we work with here in Madison County. As an example, just last month our housing program wrapped up a hygiene drive that collected over 3000 items. These items, like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, towels, are organized into kits and distributed to families we work with in our homeless prevention program and food pantry. The gathering of these things starts with one item at a time and makes a big difference in the lives of many. Much appreciation goes to students from Cazenovia’s Middle School for organizing items at their school and the children in St. Joseph’s Confirmation Class who volunteered their weekend time to move and sort all of the items. We would also like to acknowledge, Madison County Department of Health, Madison County Office for the Aging, Bridges, the Sheriff’s Department, Chittenango High School, the Employee Assistance Program for Madison County, and Community Memorial Hospital. These partners all collected items for the drive and made it possible for us to create so many kits. Thank you so much!
