Fatherhood Initiative Hosts Family Fun Night

On Tuesday evening, December 18th, the Fatherhood Initiative of Community Action Partnership (CAP) of Madison County will be hosting a Family Fun night at the Fayetteville Friendly's (501 East Genesee Street) from 5 - 8pm. Friendly's will be giving a portion of the evening's purchases back to the Fatherhood Program. The proceeds from this event will help Madison County families by supporting the Fatherhood Initiative's new Fatherhood Mentoring Program in 2013. 100 percent of the proceeds will stay local and support the program.

CAP's Fatherhood Initiative provides additional support for dads from the start. The program is a safe place for father's to ask questions and get support and to talk about how to be a positive part of the parenting process. In addition, fathers can learn about resources for health and wellness, and other community support to help with the stressors of being a parent and supporting a family.  Lenny Giardino, Fatherhood Initiative coordinator says, "Research clearly indicates the presence of a father in a child's life increases academic achievement and long-term success for the child."

Join CAP on December 18th, 5-8pm at the Fayetteville Friendly's to help make a difference. If you can not make the event, and wish to donate to the program, please call or visit Community Action Partnership at 315-684-3144 or www.capmadco.org. If you have questions about the Fatherhood Initiative you can contact the program coordinator Lenny Giardino at 315-697-3588.
