Canastota, NY - An evening of smiles, laughter, and a community of sharing was had by all as Community Action Partnership (CAP) hosted its 14th Annual Fall Fest on October 17, 2012. Area families enrolled in CAP's Starting Together Program had the opportunity to welcome fall through fun activities for the whole family. From mask making to face painting, just over 100 children and their families enjoyed this annual event where CAP staff and volunteers created a warm, inviting, fun atmosphere. Each family also had their picture taken in front of a fall scene and all walked away with cherished memories from the evening of family fun.
Starting Together, CAPs Early Childhood Program, reaches out to Madison County parents who are expecting or have a young child in their home offering information, support, and home visiting services. This voluntary program makes a difference in the county. Last year alone just over 200 infants and children received age appropriate immunization
s, medical and dental care as a result of the program.
Generous support for the event was provided by the Canastota Fire Department with the use of their building, Our Farm and Romagnoli's for the pumpkin donations for each child, and food donations by Dunkin Donuts in Hamilton and Colgate Food Services. The Great Swamp Conservancy also took part in the festivities by providing a childre
n's activity, as well as valuable educational materials.
