Mustangs Meet the Mentors and Mentees of CAP

Morrisville, NY—The Morrisville State College (MSC) Ice Hockey Team invited the mentors and mentees of the Community Action Partnership (CAP) Mentoring Program to be their guests at the Mustangs’ January 29th game at the MSC Ice Plex.

Mustangs Meet Mentors and Mentees of CAPMentors and mentees enjoyed an hour of open skate time (many skating for their first time in their lives) before meeting the players pre-game in the locker room to learn about the great sport of hockey and get autographs.  The Mustangs presented the program with a hockey stick signed by all the players before sending the youth off to concessions before the game.

During the game, the group even enjoyed a visit or two from the Mustang Mascot—the cherry on top of an unforgettable evening provided by the team and the college.  Go Mustangs!

Community Action Partnership’s Mentoring Program reaches out to approximately 40 Madison County youth each year, bringing activities like these to inspire and educate the youth in the area. CAP is funded in part by the Madison County Youth Bureau, United Way of Greater Oneida, Madison County Promise, Madison County Department of Social Services and the Women’s Fund of Central New York, all playing their part in creating positive social interactions and developmental programs for the youth.
